Journey to the End of the World

the worded jeans mark my beginning
they tell of your sweet reconnoitre with
grace;
they want you here to see me now
they whisper secrets of the romanticism of
“Romeo and Juliet.”
Portraits of lilies, roses, violets in spring
pass you by
but my photograph glitters in the new-found haze
of yesterday’s angel.
a catamaran sails on the shimmering water
you’re watching the sun set in my hand;
Queen of darkness, robed in nightly moonlight.
you’re the lip-glossed kiss on my notebook page
watching my pen stroke the paper.
Caressing the sleepiness,
entwining the pencil behind my ear,
you see the frayed threads, the break in the marking
the torn edge of the book that tells it’s not new
the princessy sun in the cloud of powder.
the flowers on my shoes wish you were here
fragrance of me travels this far
it cannot be lost while our thoughts remain,
shrouded by pretence and locked in misery,
queen of my eyes, where have you been.
so long did the shadows linger on the coats
seeing the angst of the cat on the bed
translating to peace, exploding in anger
yes I found the twist in the road.
everything of mine, of me, is dedicated to you
my heart is swimming on the green-dyed brinks of
an aquarium;
caged and wishing it was free,
waiting for us to find each other;
in solace.
